Constantin Isopescul-Grecul

Constantin Isopescul-Grecul was born February 2, 1871 in Chernivtsi.
He studied at Chernivtsi gymnasia and then entered Chernivtsi University, Faculty of Law. Later he studied at Vienna, Leipzig, and Berlin Universities.
C. Isopescul-Grecul worked as a judge in Chernivtsi, in Storozhynets. He had a rank of the adviser of regional court and was one of the youngest advisers.
In 1906 C. Isopescul-Grecul became private-assistant professor of Austrian criminal law at Chernivtsi University, and since 1909 – professor of criminal law and criminal procedure. C. Isopescul-Grecul co-author of the Austrian criminal legislature reform. When he was young he politicized and was elected as a representative of Storozhynets District to Bukovynian Landtag and Parliament (1907-1918).
In Parliament he was elected the head of the Bukovynian’s ambassador representatives of Rumanian national group. Since 1910 he practiced as a lawyer. When Austrian Monarchy collapsed, Constantin Isopescul-Grecul became the president of Rumanian liquidation commission on the position of the ambassador and authorized minister, and was appointed the first diplomatic ambassador in Czechia and Austria.
Constantin Isopescul-Grecul continued to work on this position till 1922. After returning to Chernivtsi he continued his teaching career at the University. He was elected the Dean and during 1930-1933 academic years was elected the President of the University. Constantin Isopescul-Grecul died March 29, 1938 in Chernivtsi.
