Adolf Lenz

Adolf Lenz was born January 17, 1868. In 1891 he obtained PhD (Law) at Vienna University. In 1894 he went through the process of habilitation in Vienna.
In 1900-1901 À.Lenz worked on a position of the dean at the Faculty of Law at Freiburg University. Since 1902 till 1910 À.Lenz worked at Chernivtsi University on the position of the ordinary professor. He was the Doctor of Law, Professor of Austrian criminal law and criminal process. At the Faculty of Law he taught:

«Austrian Criminal-Procedural Law»
«History of Law Philosophy»
had seminars in «Criminal Law».


Lenz lived at number 24 University Street.
In 1903-1904 À.Lenz took up a dean’s post at the College of Law.
In 1909 he was a professor at Gratz University. In 1922-1923 Adolf Lenz – President of the University in Gratz.
In 1929-1931 Lenz, who is considered to be the founder of the criminal biology, commenced his research of criminals’ (murderers’) personality implementing psychological methods.
October 28, 1959 Adolf Lenz died.
